About Us

We are the UK’s first non-subscription halal recipe box, as a company we believe having a well-balanced meal every evening is super important. This is why we develop 9 new weekly recipes from world cuisines that are full of goodness and inspiration, making dinner times an exciting table to sit at.

It is important to us that we are ethical and responsible in the way we source our ingredients, all of our suppliers adhere to the highest ethical code. Our meat is from renowned UK based suppliers that are 100% Halal Certified by the HMC.

As company, we believe cooking time should be an enjoyable experience with friends and family or alone.  Taking you on a culinary journey to experiment with world cuisines and inspire you to eat healthily.

Recycling

We use natural materials for our packaging where we can make a positive impact on the environment. We ask that customers return the insulation and ice-packs to us so that together we are mindful in helping the environment.

Founder
Saima loves eating good food, and experimenting with different types of cuisines at home, going on a culinary journey of taste, feel and aroma. Which she wanted to extend to other people, by creating Halal Fresh so people could enjoy a good meal of an evening with friends and family, as well as making dinner times excitable, by creating recipes that will inspire the cooking experience and make dinner times enjoyable for everyone.

Carole Hector

Carole studied Philosophy and Economics at The London School of Economics, graduating in 2016 with a 2.1 BSc. During university she became aware of her passion for cooking, and went on to work as a baker and cake decorator at Lily Vanilli for 1 year. She then studied the Three Term Diploma in Food and Wine at Leiths in 2017, graduating with a distinction. She is the Head Recipe Developer at Halal Fresh, and also a freelance food stylist.

Chicken Sichuan Stir Fry with Black RiceBy Chef I love to add black rice into my weekly diet because it’s packed with antioxidants and has a higher fiber content than white rice. Here we’ve used our specially selected sichuan sauce, which pairs wonderfully with the sweet peppers and carrots, whilst the freshness of the spring onions lifts the entire dish.
Beef and Mushroom StroganoffBy ChefWe’ve given a special twist to the classic stroganoff here, with the addition of a finely sliced chilli. Stroganoff is one of my favourite dishes - it’s savoury, creamy and packed full of flavour. This is the kind of dish that everyone falls in love with! As usual, leave the chilli out if you don’t like it too spicy.
Chicken, Black Bean and Cheddar QuesadillaBy Chef There are few things better than seeing a quesadilla with a generous layer of melted cheese on top, fresh out of the oven. It’s smokey and delicious from our special Mexican spice blend, whilst the black beans give a welcome creaminess, and the slight bittersweetness from the green pepper brings the entire dish together.
